Luckily, they didn't gain access to the server itself.
Yes, we do have backups, but unfortunately due to the nature of the deletions, it's not as easy as rolling back the latest database backup.
I'm still working my way through restoring and i'm hoping we'll be able to recover with minimal losses.
Worst case scenario right now would mean we'll lose the last two months of posts. I really hope that won't be the case.

This web site is another resource for Porsche 914/6 owners and prospective owners. It is a place where people can research the history of individual cars through advertisements that were previously placed over the 50 plus year history of these cars.
This web site is intended to complement other 914/6 related web sites by providing information not available on any other web site to people interested in the history of individual cars. Over many years I have amassed a significant database of advertisements and other information for these unique cars that I am now making available for free to anyone who is interested. Currently, I have information on over 1900 individual VINs of the approximately 3355 that were produced from 1970 to 1972. If you would like whatever information I have on your car, send an e-mail to and I will reply with whatever I have for your car.
This is not a registry or discussion forum. Those already exist and there is no need to duplicate that effort here. The 914/6 registry can be found at 914-6 Registry. The 914 World web site and its discussion forums can be found at 914World.
There are 2 excellent web sites related to the extremely rare 914/6 GT. Glenn
Moving the seat back - only 5 bolt holes
ORIGINAL: day1zero
Is this job as plain as it sounds?Click to expand...
Yes, very easy to fetch the 1 inch extra.
Seat right back, undo the two bolts you can see just inside the front of the rails
Seat right forward, undo the four bolts (2 each side) - just inside the back of the rails.
Now don't try to adjust the seat while the rails are not fixed because, if you do, the rails will get out of sync with each other
If you endeavor to lift seat you will find it's much heavier than you'd expect
Edge the seat support about 1 inch and you will see pre-threaded holes ready to accept same bolts
Put them back in - job done
As I said, however, one of the two rear bolts on the centre of car side does not have a hole once you have moved it back. As suggested above I guess you could drill a hole in the rail.
You require a good sharp allen key (6mm). The bolts were very tight and someone had tried to get one of mine out with a poor fitting key and slightly rounded it. But I got it out in the end. You're also best to have one of those allen keys with a "sphere" on one end because, once you have the bolts loose you have a lot of turns to
