World of warcraft chromie time
What to do after Exile’s Extend and how to activate Chromie Time
Exile’s Reach was designed for the beginning player to receive them accustomed to World of Warcraft and ready for the Battle for Azeroth-into-Shadowlands questing trial. That hasn’t prevented many veteran players from experiencing it for the sake of completeness or because they can finally level a Goblin without suffering through their starting zones, though. The addition of Chromie Time has added complexity to leveling and there’s been some confusion as to how to best treat the choice veterans are given when they arrive in their capital city. That’s what we’re here for!
After the “escape from Exile’s Reach” cinematic has played, you’ll arrive in the main capital city of your faction and you’ll be given a choice by Warlord Breka Grimaxe for Horde or Captain Garrick for Alliance. The choice is either:
As a veteran player, you’ll be tempted to take the tour just to see it, but be forewarned: Once you start the tour, there will be very few opportunities to leave the tour before you arrive in Kul Tiras or Zandalar, especially if you’re Alliance.
If you choose to skip the tour, you can pick up Adventurer’s Wa
War Within Pre-Patch Mythic+ DPS, Tank and Healer Log Rankings: Week 2
By Starym Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
All Keys
95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advanta
help me understand chromie time....
That's interesting. I stumbled into this problem back in December, during the anniversary event. I had an army of level 60s collecting dust since SL (used to get an 8th guild bank tab), and I wanted to turn them into "budget twinks" that can hold their own and get some source IDs that I felt I didn't have enough 70s to reliably get otherwise, or were being unlucky with (e.g. agi daggers, guns). For most of those 60s, this meant getting at least the 415 weapons off Zal'kir in Thaldraszus.
My partner offered to help, since she got TWW and her own 50+ chars (many originating from that same SL project) were already well on their way to 80 by then. So, we grouped up, and... couldn't get into the same phase in- or outside of Valdrakken, regardless of which characters we tried, who was the leader, and who initiated party sync. Mousing over the phasing icon on the party frames kept telling both of us that the other character is in Timewalking, despite all of the characters being in "present time". On that first day, we actually gave up, and I went digging for solutions.

Although the official name of this mechanic frequently forces me to resist the urge to make a joke combining it with the title of MC Hammer’s most famous song, I think it constitutes a wonderful addition to World of Warcraft. I’m referring to Chromie Time, of course. If you’ll indulge me for a while, I’d like to share a few of my thoughts on this relatively new character leveling system.
For those who might not be aware of what Chromie Time is and the purpose it serves, allow me to explain. Chromie Time is a gameplay mechanic available to most characters whose levels lie between 10 and 50. This system allows eligible characters to travel back in time to the events of any previous expansion set with the aid of the Bronze Dragonflight’s emissary, Chronormu, better known as Chromie.
I say this mechanic is available to most characters between levels 10 and 50 rather than all of them due to what I like to call the “veteran’s clause.” If you’re a new (or new-ish) player who didn’t have at least one level 120 character on your account before the level squish that accompanied the Shadowlands expansion, World of Warcraft will like
Chromie time gotchas
First off, this is for those who want to play an expansion, not just level through it in a hurry.
Some terminology that can be a bit confusing: Chromie Time is where you select an older expansion to play in. That will put you in a separate ‘timeframe’ from the ones playing ‘current time’, you can’t see them or interact with them, only with players who are in CT too. Exception being in the capitol, and the AH which is the same for all.
Timewalking is a special, week-long event once a month, from wednesday to wednesday. During TW week, you get extra reputation from doing quests in a particular expansion, and you can queue up for that expansion’s heroic dungeons. They come in sequence from TBC to Legion, (maybe BfA now?). TW is available for all players that have the current-time max level for that expansion. That’ll be 35 up to and including MoP, 40 for WoD, 45 for Legion. TW is availbale across expansions and whether you’re in CT or not.
You will hit max level in a good, long yawn’s time these days, so you will need to lock your xp at some point to stay in the content. Currently, you’ll get kicked out of chromie time at level 70 and that’s final. In o
