Have you ever deleted a legendary item in World of Warcraft? Find out how to restore them with ease!
If you ever obtained Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker or any other prized legendary only to realize it’s neither in your inventory nor your bank, there are ways to recover these lost items!
Use the Item Restoration Service

Legendary Vendors in Orgrimmar and Stormwind
Missing Legendaries that cannot be restored via the online tool may be repurchased in-game. Seek out Seeker Ke’rath in Orgrimmar or Seeker Najed in Stormwind, located near Void Storage and Transmogrification NPCs.
A city guard will guide you to these vendors.
Requirements for Purchase
- You must have completed the related questlines or achievements associated with the Legendary.
- The Legendary cannot already exist in your inventory or bank.

there is nothing I can do.
Not quite true.
You can delete your character and create and new one with the same class and name.
Level it up and farm the legendary again. Then you’re back (more or less) to where you were. Sure, it’s a little time and effort but it is a solution.

You just need to grind it again Then.

Same case here, item destroyed when got a better item in S3 and now unable to restore it.
It should be a way in-game to get it back or trivialize re-obatining it.

So much storage space, and people delete 1 item after getting an upgrade, selling or disenchanting an epic item i can understand.
But destroying a legendary??
Call me weird but i truly cant understand why you wouldnt put it in the bank and just hold on to it for maybe even “nostalgia reasons” or any other reason.

I see where this processed - and it looked like it worked.
I’m suspecting that process may just be a bit backed up at the moment.
I’d give it a bit more time.
If this doesn’t arrive through by morning, absolutely allow us know.

Dug into this a bit deeper - this may be comparable to a current bug under investigation.

WoW Guide: How Item Restoration Works
Did you delete an important item in WoW? We’ll show you how to restore it without having to involve a Game Master. Here’s how item restoration works in WoW.
Throughout the online life of a character in World of Warcraft, thousands, if not tens of thousands, of items end up in a player’s bags, which are then sold to vendors. With just one click, items can change hands. If a player has multiple sets of items in their inventory to optimize their gear for different roles, they can quickly sell an important item by mistake.
If the mistake is noticed quickly, the item can still be retrieved from the “Buy Back” option of the respective vendor, but if you let time pass or log out in between, the items are lost.
Many players panic and write a ticket, trying to resolve the issue through Blizzard’s support. However, this is not necessary, as there is already an automated system in place that doesn’t require the help of a support employee and saves time.
We’ll explain how the item restoration system works.

World of Warcraft Adds New Way to Obtain Lost Legendary Items
Summary
- New NPCs in major cities sell lost Legendary items for 500 gold each.
- Seek Seeker Ke'rath in Orgrimmar or Seeker Najed in Stormwind for items.
- Items must be unlocked in the past to buy. Some exceptions apply.
World of Warcraft recently added new NPCs to the Transmogrification shops in Orgrimmar and Stormwind who sell previously-acquired Legendary items that have been lost or deleted. These NPCs were quietly added to the game in World of Warcraft Patch 11.0.7, and can be found in both capital cities right now.
Legendary items in World of Warcraft are some of the hardest items to obtain in the game. From iconic Classic weapons like Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian and Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker to WoW: Dragonflight’s Legendary Nasz’uro, the Unbound Legacy, and Fyr’alath, the Dream Render, these pieces of gear often require weeks or even months of grinding to obtain.
