So You Wanna Get Zin’Rokh?

If any of you are like me, the first thing you saw when you looked at archaeology was the monster 2-hander, Zin’Rokh, the Destroyer of Worlds.  Not only was it a throw back to Vanilla times, it was looking like a possible BiS item.  I vowed that I would devote all of my time after hitting level 85 to farming up this bad boy…now, many hours and several hundred turn-ins later, my dedication to that vow is beginning to waver.

So, you wanna get Zin’Rokh?  Be advised that this undertaking is not for the faint of heart.  It is rough and rocky traveling.  It is hours of farming that may net you nothing but a couple achievements and some flavor items.  That said, if you’re up for the challenge, this guide will help you along the way.

The first thing you need to do is head to Eastern Kingdoms and set your hearth stone to Brill (if you’re a DK, disregard this and use Death Gate to get to the Ebon Hold and your hearthstone to get to a more central location, like Ham

Zin’rokh, Destroyer of Worlds Guide in Cataclysm Classic

How to get Zin’rokh and its history in Cata Classic

Some artifacts in the vast world of Azeroth are considered legendary treasures coveted by adventurers. Among these, Zin’rokh, Destroyer of Worlds, holds a place of extreme rarity and power. For those brave enough to seek it, obtaining Zin’rokh is a journey fraught with difficulty and uncertainty. Trolls tend to give their artifacts extravagant names, making them easily recognizable as the products of troll craftsmen. Among the artifacts of the Archeology profession is Zin’rokh, a sword coveted by many game-classes especially for Retribution Paladins, Death Knights and Warriors.

While getting it may seem like an impossible task to some, it is more a matter of pouring in a huge amount of time than an impossibility. Therefore, even experienced players do not dare to swing archaeology for many days and then still at the maximum level to try to knock out this artifact sword, however, do not worry and take advantage of Cata Gear Boost and then you will get this item without any problems with saving a huge amount of time

Ah yes, archaeology. Do you even remember it exists? One of the biggest rewards from the Cataclysm-introduced side profession is a troll sword transmog. It was pretty rare back then, and it seems it still is today, as one player took 14 years to get it!

The Long Dig

Zin’rokh, Destroyer of Worlds, is quite the special one. Introduced in Cataclysm’s 4.0.3 patch, the sword requires a LOT of time spent in archaeological dig sites. The problem isn’t gathering the needed 150 fragments from Troll digsites, it’s actually getting the project to show up in the first place. Archaeology randomly offers you a project to work on once the last one is completed, and Troll projects are rare to begin with. Every time you solve a Troll project, you have a chance to see the sword show up.

A Breakthrough

And so we come to TheIncredibleBulk777. It’s been a long 14 years working on those Troll digsites, as the random number generation just did not play nice. There are many reports of players getting it with wildly different numbers of solves. One player “only” needed to solve 75 Troll projects, while others needed over 500! We don’t know how many solves exactly it took TheIncredibleBulk to get thi

Zin'rokh and other epic gear from Arcaeology

So has anyone been able to find these yet? Been max for three days now, completed pretty much all discoveries for dwarf and Troll minus the epic gear. Im sure ive done adv over 50 solves in each faction but still nothing but uncommons.

Oldtomatoes-area-522

They exist.

P only approaches .99 at around 430 solves.

A few people in my guild found the Tyrande doll. I don’t think we’ve seen a weapon yet, but that’s just RNG.

It’s boring to complete if your not working

I told myself that once i get to 200 solves im done with archeology just because i have so much left to do before cata. Don’t want to spend the entire time grinding for something that doesn’t have a towards-progress guarantee. Just hit 200 solves, which compared to others isn’t a whole lot but it is for me. Just isn’t pleasurable haha. Would have been agreeable to see an increase in the relic drop rates since Cata is going to possess a shorter timeline. Would probably get me going for epics again. Oh well! To those who have gotten their titanic congrats!

Zin'rokh, Destroyer of Worlds. Best way to get it?

So, if i want "Zin'rokh, Destroyer of Worlds" would it be best to only lvl archaeology to 450 not using any troll and after 450 start using troll?

It's going to take hundreds of solves to get it, unless you're extremely lucky. I'm at 288 solves on Dwarf with no staff. Expect to spend 100+ hours farming it, no matter how you save the fragments.

yep, but i was thinking that it might be worth to save the troll fragments til i hit 450

I saved all the troll fragments until I hit 450. It's a bit of a waste spending them before without a chance of getting the rare, and the other races have low level rares out there you can get while leveli
