The drummer was replaced at the last several dates of the trek by Kenny Aronoff, who had previously played with Hagar, bassist Michael Anthony and guitarist Joe Satriani in CHICKENFOOT.

Earlier today (Sunday, November 3),Bonham released the following statement via social media: "I wanted to take a moment to explain my absence over the past few weeks. As many of you know, my mother has been facing some serious health issues, and it's been an incredibly challenging time for our family. I'm grateful to share that she's on the mend and has been discharged from the hospital! She's now home and recovering, which brings me immense relief.

"It was truly difficult to step away from 'The Best Of All Worlds' tour with only four shows left. The energy, the connections, and the experiences were nothing short of incredible, but my priority had to be with my mother during her fight for life.

"I'm excited to announce that JBLZE

Sammy Hagar has explained his reasoning for not bringing Jason Bonham back into the band for his upcoming Best Off All Worlds Las Vegas Residency and instead keeping acclaimed drummer Kenny Aronoff in the group.

Aronoff was called in to replace Bonham for the final dates of The Best Of All Worlds Summer Tour after Bonham was forced to leave the trek early due to his mother's illness.

The tour was launched by Sammy to celebrate the music and the legacy of his former band Van Halen. The group features his former Van Halen bandmate Michael Anthony, as well as guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani.

Hagar spoke to Rolling Stone about the upcoming residency and explained why he decided to stick with Aronoff for the shows, "There's two reasons.

"Number one, he's one of the greatest drummers on the planet. I think he's been on more million-selling records than any musician in the world. And he did so well on this tour, and he plays with Joe on a full-time basis.

"And he blew my mind. I played with Kenny in Chickenfoot, and he blew my mind then too, because when we auditioned him, he learns every song. 'Tell

JASON BONHAM Leaves SAMMY HAGAR's 'Best Of All Worlds' Tour Due To Family Issue; KENNY ARONOFF Steps In

Jason Bonham was forced to leave Sammy Hagar's "The Best Of All Worlds" tour due to an unspecified family issue. The drummer was replaced at Hagar's concert on Tuesday night (August 27) at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio by Kenny Aronoff, who had previously played with Hagar, bassist Michael Anthony and guitarist Joe Satriani in CHICKENFOOT.

"Tonight I'm going to dedicate this to the Bonham family in England," Hagar said while introducing the song "Eagles Fly". "Hope everything works out okay over there, and to our brother Jason."

At the end of the show, Hagar gave a special shout-out to "the man who saved the day, Kenny fucking Aronoff."

Aronoff replaced Chad Smith in CHICKENFOOT's touring lineup from 2011 to 2012. Smith was forced to step away from CHICKENFOOT's touring activities due to his commitments with the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS.

CHICKENFOOT recorded two albums between 2009 and 2011 and toured across America but never performed any VAN HALEN material. More recently, Hagar and Anthony have

Sammy Hagar Explains Drummer Change on Van Halen Tribute Tour

Sammy Hagar has explained why Kenny Aronoff took over for Jason Bonham on the Red Rocker’s Best of All Worlds tour.

He said Bonham had tried to keep working after his mother suffered a stroke, but in the end realized he had to visit her in a U.K. hospital.

And the singer added that Aronoff had done a great job in covering for Bonham, joking that he was actually performing the Van Halen-heavy set list better than Hagar was himself.

“His mother had a stroke and went into a coma, and it’s serious,” Hagar told KSHE 95 in a new interview (below). “The whole family went over there, and he held out for two or three days. [Then] he says, ‘I gotta go; I gotta go.’ I said, ‘You go – go.’

“So we told Kenny; he had about 24-hour notice, and he came in [for] the first night… at six in the morning. We played that night in Cincinnati, and he did a 90-percent perfect show. I swear to you, I make more mistakes every night than he did! So that’s a big hats-off to this guy.

Sammy Hagar Explains Why He Switched Drummers

Next year, Sammy Hagar will bring his 'Best of All Worlds' tour to Las Vegas for a residency. At his side will be Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani and, the newest addition to the lineup, Kenny Aronoff.

Aronoff came into the picture earlier this year when drummer Jason Bonham exited the group due to a family emergency. But what initially looked like a temporary situation has now grow permanent for the foreseeable future.

"There's two reasons," Hagar recently explained to Rolling Stone. "Number one, he's one of the greatest drummers on the planet. I think he's been on more million-selling records than any composer in the world. And he did so well on this tour, and he plays with Joe on a full-time basis...

"And he blew my mind. I played with Kenny in Chickenfoot, and he blew my consciousness then too, because when we auditioned him, he learns every song. 'Tell me what songs we're playing.' 'Okay, here they are.' He charts them out and he sits there, and he fuckin' can read it, and play it with heart and power perfectly, just one time, the first time he plays it.
