When’s the Best Time to Visit Walt Disney World?
The answer is—it depends! There are many factors that can affect crowd levels. While any day at Walt Disney World can be magical, some days do have lighter crowds than others. Here are some key factors to consider when planning your 2026 visit:
HOLIDAYS
Holidays significantly impact crowd levels at Walt Disney World, with some being more impactful than others. Holidays that include a long weekend—such as Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, and Veterans Day—tend to bring increased crowds compared to surrounding weeks, though they are not overwhelmingly busy. However, holidays like Independence Day, Easter, and Thanksgiving see moderate to heavy crowds. The busiest time of year is the weeks before and during Christmas and New Year’s Eve, when the parks often reach maximum capacity, sometimes resulting in park closures. If you have flexibility in your travel dates, avoiding these peak holiday periods will help you experience lower crowd levels.

If you’re considering a spring visit, April crowds fluctuate depending upon whether Easter occurs in April. During most years, that’s the case. In the last decade, Easter has happened during March in only 2016 and 2024. This coming year, Easter falls on April 5, 2026. That’s 15 days earlier than last year, which had a late holiday.
You can expect the week before and days after that to be among the busiest times of the year at Walt Disney World. Spring Break crowds will descend upon Walt Disney World throughout both months. But with Easter occurring in early April 2026, the season is going to be more condensed that last year–more on par with the historical norm.
